a brief overview
Steven Boone was born in Chicago, Illinois. His family moved to Washington DC. when he was 11. After finishing high school in Washington, he attended New Mexico State University from 1970 - 1972. From 1973 - 1976 he attended The Maryland Institute College of Art, in Baltimore, where he received his BFA in painting. After graduating college, he moved to the southwest and has lived in Santa Fe since 1978. He is a father, husband, artist, writer, photographer, publisher and world traveler. He has been a full time professional artist since 1986.
Steven has owned several art galleries, and shown artwork at venues across the United States. His artwork is in corporate collections, and has appeared on the the cover of magazines such as American Psychologist.
In 2008, Steven took a full year to travel around the world, painting, writing, and taking photographs. During this time, his painting, Van Gogh, All Hungup, was accepted to become part of the permanent collection of Fondation Van Gogh – Arles, located in Arles, France, the foundation includes a museum devoted to images that honor Vincent Van Gogh. His artwork is part of the collection of the United States Department of Interior.
